JAY-Z’S MADE ROC-A-FELLA ‘LOOK CRAZY,’
Dame Dash has shared his thoughts on the famous beef between JAY-Z and Nas, particularly JAY-Z's apology, which he believes made Roc-A-Fella Records look bad.
Speaking on The CEO Show alongside fashion icon Willie Esco, Dame Dash expressed his admiration for Nas and discussed his reaction to Nas mentioning him in his iconic diss track against JAY-Z, "Ether."
Dame Dash explained that he was initially shocked but happy that Nas mentioned his name. He believed Nas was using it as a distraction tactic, and he considered it "bubblegum shit." However, he recalled how the song played on the radio during a Rocawear campaign shoot, negatively impacting their efforts.
Dame Dash also praised Nas for maintaining his authenticity and evolving well in his career. He expressed respect for Nas's investments and contributions to Hip Hop.
Regarding JAY-Z's later apology to Nas, Dame Dash revealed that he wasn't in favor of it and believed it made Roc-A-Fella Records look bad. He even humorously blamed Irv Gotti, a Queens native, for influencing JAY-Z's decision.
JAY-Z's apology came after his mother, Gloria Carter, called him to express her disapproval of the crude lines in "Supa Ugly," his response to "Ether." The diss track included explicit references to having sex with Nas's ex-girlfriend and leaving condoms on her baby's car seat.
Dame Dash has previously criticized JAY-Z's response to Nas in other interviews, suggesting that Nas came out on top in their feud and that JAY-Z's response was "terrible." He also emphasized the negative impact of Irv Gotti's involvement in the situation, which led to JAY-Z apologizing.
In summary, Dame Dash discussed his perspective on the JAY-Z and Nas beef, his reaction to "Ether," and his disapproval of JAY-Z's later apology, placing some blame on Irv Gotti's influence.
