He also responded to claims that he was responsible for her dropping out of school. It all started when a fan tweeted a photo of Mariah with her middle fingers up, claiming that she flunked out of school because of Lil Yachty. Mariah had briefly attended St. John's University in New York on a biology scholarship before dropping out to pursue music, which some fans believed was influenced by her alleged romance with the rapper. twitter.com/... Lil Yachty responded by stating that he had nothing to do with Mariah's decision to drop out and that they were not dating at the time. He also criticized the spread of false rumors and the fact that Mariah had not spoken up to refute them. When a fan accused Lil Yachty of getting a close friend of Mariah's pregnant, he denied the claim, stating that they were never friends and had rarely ever spoken to each other. Mariah The Scientist appeared to confirm the rumors by threatening to expose Lil Yachty's "dirty laundry." Lil Yachty, however, refused to engage in a back-and-forth on the internet, stating that he had already cleared his name and that her fans were "weird." Last spring, Lil Yachty was also linked to R&B singer Justine Skye, but the two denied the rumors.
